When we announced that Corsica would be closing last October, we were absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of artists, promoters, customers and industry colleagues who reached out to ask how they could help save the space - Fred was one of the first.

To be clear, the fate of Corsica as we know it is sealed. At the end of March, the venue will close and shortly afterwards, a major programme of soundproofing and refurbishment works will begin. Once these are complete, the space can return as a music venue. It won't be Corsica as we know it, but something new will take its place, and that's where our attention is focused.

With all of this in mind, we are now extremely excited to announce that as part of our final season of events, Fred will play a one-off final show at Corsica for 220 people this Thursday, 19th February

We anticipate demand for this show to be extremely high, and we have decided that the fairest way of making tickets available will be via a prize-draw system. To be in with a chance of winning, you will need to buy a ticket for £10 here [link]. Everyone who enters the prize draw will have a chance to win a pair of tickets, and on Wednesday afternoon, 110 people will be selected at random and sent two tickets for the show the next day, Thursday, 19th February. You can enter as many times as you like.

As well as a chance to gain entry for Fred’s show, all of the funds that the prize draw raises will be put towards making the new space the best club and venue that it can possibly be. A major refit and upgrade of the whole space is needed, and raising funds in this way will help us remain independent. Corsica has always been an artist-led, not-for-profit company, and we are totally committed to preserving the same ethos and values that we have operated under for the last 24 years. We fully intend to continue supporting and nurturing music born from the underground.

If you are lucky enough to win some tickets, you will experience Fred performing in an incredibly intimate space. If you don’t, your entry to the prize draw will still help secure the future of an independent grassroots music venue for future generations of music lovers to enjoy.
